    Richard Wyles

    Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder

    Richard played an instrumental role in founding Totara Learning Solutions in 2010 and has led the company since start-up. Prior to Totara, Richard played a leading role in the dramatic rise of Moodle as the e-learning technology of choice in his home country New Zealand and internationally.

    He has led large government funded Moodle projects including the very first enterprise scale deployment of Moodle in 2004.

    In 2006 he co-founded the Mahara project, the popular open source eportfolio system. That year Richard also co-founded Flexible Learning Network, now part of the City & Guilds Kineo group of companies.

    Lars Hyland

    Lars leads Totara’s operations across EMEA, and heads up the Brighton office in the UK. He is also responsible for the development and growth of the Totara Community, a global network of learning professionals.

    Lars has championed the adoption of learning technology and is a recognised thought leader in the industry. Lars has held senior management positions at Epic, Brightwave, LEO and CogBooks in the UK, as well as founding the pioneering SaaS-based learning transfer platform, Retenda.

    Minna Leikas

    Global Director of Marketing

    Minna leads the Totara global marketing team, and is responsible for implementing the global marketing strategy across different markets. Minna has been in the learning technologies industry in various international marketing management roles since 2005, with companies such as Giunti Labs, eXact learning solutions and NetDimensions.

    Before joining the learning and talent management industry Minna worked in digital marketing and media planning in leading advertising and media agencies in Finland. Minna speaks English, Italian and Finnish and she holds a MSc (Econ.) degree in Marketing.

    Simon Coggins

    Director of Learning Technologies

    "Open technology is vital for ensuring organisations and their learners have the freedom to learn. We design our software to be adapted to your needs, meaning you can customise without compromise."

    Simon is responsible for managing key technology projects within the company, driving requirements gathering, design and development of those projects. This involves oversight of our technology team and ongoing collaborations with our network of Totara Partners and customers.

    Simon has worked on Moodle since 2009 and was part of the establishment of Totara starting in 2010. He is a regular contributor to Moodle and other open source projects. Before moving to New Zealand Simon completed a PhD in Astrophysics, and also spent 2.5 years on a remote Antarctic research station as a data scientist and winter station commander. He then worked in Cambridge, UK and Antarctica as a deputy project manager on a project to build a new Antarctic research station.

    André Yamin

    André leads a team of senior product managers, business analysts, solution consultants and customer support officers who interact with a broad range of stakeholders, continually gather and analyse data and business intelligence from multiple sources to ensure we are building products that deliver to customers business agility and success.

    Before joining the Totara team, Andre co-founded a Totara Partner in Brazil and worked for a Platinum Partner in New Zealand as a Senior Solution Architect.
